Wayne Glaze

Wayne Glaze is a director at Material Architects, an award winning practice, in areas such as master planning, mixed use and residential. Wayne has over 25 years' experience in delivering nationally recognised high quality architecture and urban design. This success has migrated into the Sunday Times British Home Awards on 3 occasions most recently in 2019 for Apartment Development of the Year. Prior to forming Material Architects Wayne was for many years a director at Hawkins Brown Architects, where he initiated and then led the residential sector in the practice. Wayne's commitment to housing in London and the South East has developed in to him being actively involved in number charities across London, all of which promote accessible affordable housing. Wayne has for nearly 2 decades sat on a variety of Local Authorities Design Review Panels, including the London Borough of Southwark, Richmond and Wandsworth. Along with being an external examiner in Architecture at a number of universities across England, Wayne regularly acts as a Design Mentor on large regeneration housing projects for National Developers, public sector organisations and charities. At present Wayne is working with the RIBA on their student mentoring scheme, encouraging experienced Architects to work with students in developing their careers. He was recently elected a Fellow at the Royal Society of Arts.
