Swiss-British Marina is an Architect and Associate Director at award-winning boutique studio Intervention Architecture and former president of the Birmingham Architectural Association (BAA). Marina led the BAA, pivotal to the cities built environment, to be one of the most active and successful RIBA branches. Marina is also an accomplished horticulturalist and garden designer, winning Gold at Gardener's World Live 2023. Marina is passionate about collaborative process and creating holistic and beautiful designs for the end user. Marina has previously chaired judging for the Scottish Design Awards, lectured at universities, debated at panel discussions and had works published. Intervention Architecture is a young boutique studio, with a rigorous design approach, from development of sketches to the making of space with collective involvement. Community-led engagement and meaningful architectural intervention, with artist collaborations, has become central to IA ways of working as they invite people to become engaged with space in innovative ways. Intervention Architecture's Honey and Walnut house won a RIBA Regional award 2022, the studio was named Elle Decoration Top 25 UK Architects 2020, won Architect's Practice of the Year at the Insider West Midlands Property Awards in 2019 and has been included in the Architecture's foundation New Architects 4 co-hort 2021.
