The 458 Build to Rent homes, ranging from studios to four-bedroom apartments, were created with recent graduate sharers in mind – with many of the homes offering equal sized bedrooms and en-suites. 63 homes are Affordable, pepper potted and tenure blind. The brief to interior design team Fossey Arora was to create a place where young people could live and connect, with community at the core. The resulting development is energetic and undoubtedly unique. Polite irreverence was a cornerstone of the conceptual design. Irony, satire and British eccentricity shine through every element, with talking-points abound. The shared social spaces are testament to this. The podium garden has a distinctly British festival feel. Up on the rooftops, three custom built, work-from-home campervans deliver a mini remote-working community. There’s a caravan with a hot tub and an orange-shaped juice bar beside what is believed to be London’s longest row of sun loungers. Indoors, the Residents’ Lounge is designed for working and socialising. The space is brimming with unexpected elements, including a polka dot London taxi coffee machine, work pods, and a dining room. The strength of The Robinson’s community-led identity flows throughout, delivering a sense of homeliness and connectedness that cleverly integrates the amenities and inspires conversation at every turn.
