Shoreline

Folkestone Harbour & Seafront Development Company

Shoreline is the first phase of an extensive regeneration programme that will transform a once dilapidated stretch of Folkestone’s seafront, which was occupied by a derelict former amusement park and concrete lorry parks, with up to 1,000 new homes, shops, bars and restaurants, as well as attractive public and green spaces, including Leas Square and Marine Parade.

This follows a wider transformation of the town, led by Sir Roger De Haan (Chairman of Folkestone Harbour and Seafront Development Company), which was once derelict and run down in large parts, through a series of expansive regeneration projects. Major projects include the redevelopment of the Harbour Arm, conversion of the 19th Century decommissioned Folkestone Harbour train station and disused lighthouse, as well as the creation of Fountain Square and the coveted Creative Quarter. Shoreline is a striking beachfront development that is the first step in building a vibrant new community. Facing directly onto the seafront, the development comprises 84 apartments, duplexes and penthouses, as well as beach houses that set a new standard in UK coastal living with direct beach access, breath-taking ocean views, generous entertaining spaces, large private roof terraces or balconies, a passenger lift, secure private car parking spaces and a dedicated concierge service. Designed by leading architectural practice acme with interiors by 8 Holland Street, Shoreline is a contemporary take on the traditional Edwardian curved terrace and marks the beginning of a new era of prominence for the town.
