Questions Deadline 13th May
Q. Are there any footprint restrictions?
A. Footprint restrictions 9×6 metres but with some flexibility
Q. As no particular site, we assume the typical site to be on a flood plain with high risk of Pluvial and Fluvial flooding? Is that a good assumption?
A. Assumption correct as we are looking for a resilient home
Q. A footprint dimension of 6m x 9m is identified under Type of House and the rectangular footprint of the case study house I’d like to submit is bigger at 5.7m x 11.5m, giving a 3 bedroom habitable area of less than 1,500sq ft, (half the 3000q ft max identified). I’m wondering if there is a possible typo mistake in the brief as a max 3000q ft size over 3 storeys [plus a possible fourth storey room in roof] gives a minimum footprint of 6m x 11.6m – or minimum footprint of 6m x 15.3m if just 3 storeys [no room in roof].
A. Correctly observed. If we allow three floors at 54m2 (i.e. 9mx6m) this gives a max of about 162 m2, which is roughly 1600 ft2, not 3000 ft2. We apologise for any confusion.
