Lakeshore, Bristol

Lakeshore is the ambitious conversion of the grade 2 listed, 1970s built Wills Imperial Tobacco Factory in Bristol into 286 eco-homes. Developer Urban Splash worked with architect Ferguson Mann to come up with a design that was sympathetic yet modern, and would encourage sustainable living among a new community. The former industrial building, which is constructed on top of its own private lake, now boasts such features as: ETFE roof, biomass boiler with geothermal borehole, and allotments. Continue reading
